The ninth iteration of Intima Punto & Seguido show ended successfully.

The strategic alliance between Del Burgo & Asoc. and Indexport Messe Frankfurt yielded results at a top class event.

6347 traders and entrepreneurs of the sector and more than 9000 people visited the show. This number surpassed the expectations of both exhibitors and organizers.

With a glamorous and colorful fashion show, the ninth iteration of Intima Punto & Seguido, at the La Rural Trade Center, finished amidst resounding applause.

The show exceeded the expectations of organizers, entrepreneurs and traders of the sector, who worked hard to make this iteration of the show best one yet.

This ninth edition presented several challenges, since it was the first one organized under the strategic alliance of Punto & Seguido magazine and Indexport Messe Frankfurt, leader in the organization of local and international events.

During the opening act, the President of Indexport Messe Frankfurt, Fernando Gorbarán, said: “We have built a perfect partnership with the people of Punto & Seguido Magazine, with Marcelo Del Burgo and Ernesto Del Burgo. With the intention of growing and offering Argentine product not only to local purchasers, traders and distributors, but also to those abroad, we have developed the first business round of the industry, together with the Export-Ar Foundation. It is our intention to add all of our know-how, our expertise; in order to preserve the personal touch and identity that the Del Burgo family have given the sector and to all the work done”.

Marcelo Elizondo, Executive Director of the Export-Ar Foundation was present at the opening and talked about the country’s exports: “Fortunately, foreign trade in Argentina is yielding good results, exportation is growing reaching an almost 70% increase compared to the level we had at the beginning of the decade and that foreign sale growth is pushing for a broadening of the exporter base, made up by small and medium size companies, like most of the companies here today. Today, exporting companies in Argentina, more than 60% of what Argentina sells the world are manufactured goods. So, in some trades such as this one, in which we still have to support the production effort with coordinated, synchronized and intelligent efforts, for better international trading we at the Export-Ar Foundation and Indexport Messe Frankfurt, though this was an excellent opportunity to organize an international chapter within the framework of this trade show. An international business round like the one we have opened(...)”.

The show changed stages and was held at the La Rural Trade Center for the first time. The trade show occupied a surface of 7,000 m² and had the participation of 82 companies related to corsets, lingerie, bathing suits and other industry related sectors.

An excellent trading environment characterized the trade show. The 1st International Round of Lingerie and Corset Purchasers, organized by the Export-Ar Foundation and Indexport Messe Frankfurt, was held, gathering purchasers from Canada, Venezuela, Ecuador, Paraguay, Chile and Uruguay.

About 40 Argentine entrepreneurs met with international purchasers. Each international purchaser had an average of 30 meetings. The purchasers were looking for quality, price and new trends.

All the entrepreneurs were surprised by the good disposition and kindness they received from the members of the organization. Many of them were visiting the show for the first time. In the case of Paraguayan companies, they decided to visit Argentina for the first time, after importing from Brazil for years, looking for a better price and they made first contact in this commercial mission.

On the other hand, several brands presented their new spring-summer collections with fashion and theme shows. Well-known models, such as Julieta Prandi, Paula Chavez, Sofía Zamolo and Rocío Guirao Díaz, among other, took turns on the catwalk using their glamour and creativity to represent the following themes:

Photographs, Arid Theme and A Day at the Countryside

Selú had an impact on the glamorous fashion show, hosted by Horacio Cabak, where it introduced its Selú Teen and Selú Man collections, together with a sexier and more sophisticated evening line.

Grupo Kaury presented its new collection, showcasing its three lines: Sigry, Marcela Koury and Kaury, full of visual effects, smoke, lights and, finally, a balloon shower over the catwalk..

The organizers were extremely satisfied by the comments they received from both the exhibitors and the visitors; all of them are already thinking about the next Intima Punto & Seguido Show, to be held August 23rd to 25th, 2007.
